Heat BLOK -How it works
What they are and how they work.
One single ceramic micro sphere is so small that it looks to the naked eye as if it is a single grain of flour,( slightly thicker than a human hair).
This ball has a wall thickness about 1/10 of the sphere diameter, it's thermal conductivity 0.1 W / m / Deg.C a compressive strength of about 6500 psi, a softening point of about 1800° C, it is fairly chemical resistant, and it is non combustible. Pretty tough little ball !
Now lets improve on it by removing all the gas inside and create a vacuum. Physics law states that nothing can move by conduction through a vacuum, since it represents an absence of matter.
In effect we have a miniature thermos bottle... A microscopic hollow vacuum sphere that resists thermal conductivity and suppresses sound.
When these microspheres are combined with other materials they improve the thermal resistance of those materials.
For instance, the ceramic tiles on the space Shuttle fuselage use ceramic, degassed microspheres to control heat and reduce material expansion.
In a bulk state, HeatBLOK Insulating Paint Additive looks like talcum powder.
Conventional paint pigments are sharp edged and pack down loose as the paint film dries leaving paths for heat to pass through. The jagged edges also make for a rough surface which grabs dirt and soils easily.
Insulating ceramic microspheres create a tightly packed dried film with minimal paths for heat transfer resulting in very efficient thermal barrier.
The hard ceramic shell resists dirt and being round like ball bearings they aid in paint application making paint coatings "flow".
When mixed into paint and applied to a wall or roof, the ceramic "beads" shrink down tight as the water and other vehicles evaporate creating a tightly packed film of the "thermos bottle" like cells.
This ceramic layer provides a thermal barrier, improved fire resistance, protection from harmful UV rays, repulsion of insects such as termites and protection from the destructive forces of weather.
Being a ceramic impregnated film, the scrubability of the dried paint film is improved tremendously and their roundness causes them to act like ball bearings, rolling upon each other, thus allowing the coatings to flow more easily.
The tough ceramic shell increases the longevity of the paint that it is mixed into meaning you have to paint less often. Ceramic house paints far outlast conventional paints due to the porcelain film surface.
HeatBLOK ceramic additive works with all types of paints and coatings Helps to maintain a more comfortable living environment.
Does not change the application, or adhesion of paint. Reduces heat and cooling loss! Non-Toxic and Environmentally Friendly!
