RC-98 is an innovative and cost effective product devloped by Defence Materials & StoresResearch & Devlopment Establishment (DMSRDE), Ministry of Defence, Kanpur.

Key Features : RC-98, penetrates the midly corroded surfaces and reacts with the rust and metal in 
such a way that makes the rust very adherent to the metal over which finishing paints can be applied directly. The complex formated itself acts as a primer and providesvery good adhesion to the finishing paint.Versatile in-situ conversion coating. Reliable conversion coating, very effective in wide range of Enviroments. Can be applied on any rusted surface of steel after removel of loose rust. Conversion coating itself acts as a primer viz. use of primer pain can be dispensed with. Provides an excellent base for the application of finishing paint viz.excellent adhesion. Non-toxi and safe to handle. Does not emit acidic/toxi fumes during handling. Long shelf life. Can be handled even by unskilled workers. Application of finish coat can be delayed even by a month. Conforms to stringent Defence specification conforming to four different version of corrosion test:-. ARE Salt Droplet test to is : 3618. CRL beaker test to BS: 1391. Humiditytest to IS : 101. Immersionin synthetic sea water for30daysin unpainted and 60 days in painted condition.
RC-98 can be appliedby brushing or by swabbing with cloth, small components can be coated by dipping.
If top coated with 2 coats of a high build epoxy coating to a dry film thickness of 200-250 microns, can provide a Corrosion Free life of a minimum 5 years even in highly corrosive areas.
